The beautiful view of the UNESCO World Heritage Ilulissat fjord!

We start by crossing the bay behind Ilulissat before heading over the mountain “Akinnaq avannarleq”. Here there are about 350 meters of altitude, where on the steepest hills you have to walk behind the sled.

It is therefore important that you are in good shape to participate on this tour.
After the first hill, the backcountry opens up with lots of lakes and deserted mountains.

We drive out to the area ´Nalluarsuk´ (view over Ilulissat icefjord) where we stop for about 10-15 minutes and get something hot to drink (coffee/tea) and then turn around to drive back in the same track towards Ilulissat.

One of the highlights is the ride down the Great Akinnaq, where we whiz down the snow-capped mountain with stunning views of the city and Disko Bay.

You sit two on each sledge, in addition to the driver. If you have booked the tour alone, you may have to share a sled with another participant.

If you have back or neck problems, or if you are not in good physical shape, this tour is not for you.

All participants must be at least 12 years old.
